We Received N12m Ransom From Kidnap Of Okonjo-Iweala’s Mother – Suspect (Photos)
One of the suspects of the gang that abducted the mother of former Finance minister Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, Prof. Kamene Okonjo, has confessed that his gang collected N12 million as ransom for the release of Prof Okonjo in 2013.
A statement from the Enugu state police command say the suspect identified as Peter Nweke who hails from Umumba Ndiagu in Ezeagu LGA of Enugu State made the revelation while he was being interrogated over the weekend.
Peter said that he was contacted by one Ifeanyi Chukwuemeka from Iselle Uku in Delta who linked him to one of the Okonjo’s family members that helped them to perfect the kidnap.
He said that Chukwuemeka disguised as an NYSC member seeking for assistance and entered the compound and abducted Professor Okonjo.

Kenyan Muslims Shield Christians During Islamic Sect Attack
A group of Kenyan Muslims travelling on a bus ambushed by Islamist gunmen, protected Christian passengers by refusing to be split into groups during an attack by Islamic sect members on their bus which was traveling from the capital Nairobi to the town of Mandera this morning.
The militants ambushed the bus, asked all the passengers to come down, then they asked the Muslims among them to return into the bus while the Christians should stay back.

Remove Subsidy And Stimulate Infrastructure – Tinubu Tells Buhari
The National leader of All Progressives Congress (APC), and former governor of Lagos State, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu has asked President Muhammadu Buhari to remove fuel subsidy without further delay.
Speaking at the 10th memorial anniversary of late Bala Usman, Tinubu said, with the removal of subsidy, the money can be used to feed school children with the country’s local products, promote agriculture and create jobs.
Tinubu said there were too many demons in the subsidy system, adding that “It is better that we remove it and spend the money to save the people instead of expend the people to save the money.”
The APC national leader noted that if Bala Usman was to be alive, he would have equally called for immediate removal of the subsidy, adding that, “What I have said here is more than talk. It is a call to action”.
