Decomposing Bodies Of 6 Women Found Inside Canal In Lagos

The Lagos state police command says it has discovered the decomposing bodies of six women inside a canal in Ikorodu Lagos State.
Spokesperson of the command, DSP Joseph Offor said the decomposing bodies of the yet to be identified women ‎were found in a canal at Anibaba area, off Akele Street, Ikorodu, at about 3.30 p.m. on Sunday December 6th.
He added that Lagos State environmental agency officials have since removed the corpses to a public mortuary for autopsy. No arrest had been made in connection with the deaths.

The minister of Power, Works and Housing, Babatunde Fashola, has given kudos to the immediate past president, Goodluck Jonathan on road construction.
Former Governor of Lagos State, Babatunde Raji Fashola, who is now Nigeria’s Minister for Power, Works and Housing has praised the achievements of former President Goodluck Jonathan.
A Point Blank News report shows that the minister gave the accolades on Tuesday while unveiling his plans as minister at the ministry’s first news conference tagged “Setting the Agenda for Delivering Change”.
Fashola said that Goodluck Jonathan has constructed more roads than any other president ever in Nigeria.
He also acknowledged that the Transformation in the power sector is above 50 % and that he would try to build on it.

Some reports have suggested that the Portuguese could be sacked if Chelsea lose their decisive Champions League game to Porto on Wednesday, and Mutu feels his time is now up.
The former Romania international worked under Mourinho for a short spell during his time at Stamford Bridge between 2003 and 2004.

Gov. Oshiomhole reveals that they uncovered fraud in pensions payment in Edo state

Governor Adams Oshiomhole of Edo State stated that the state government has uncovered fraud in pension administration in the state and ordered the scrapping of the state’s Pensions Board, saying that a bureau would be created to look into the payment of pension funds to pensioners.

He promised that within two weeks, local government pensioners will get paid as steps have been taken to ensure that going forward,there will be provision made for payment of council pensioners.

Police arrest security guards for impersonating soldiers in Lagos

Two security guards, Richard Adamu, 25; and Musa Mohammed 26, attached to an estate in Akowonjo, Egbeda, Lagos were arrested by the Special Anti-Robbery Squad for allegedly impersonating men of the Nigerian Army. It was learnt that the guards were arrested in the community in military camouflage.

A handcuff, two jack knives and a Nigeria Police Force crest were said to have been recovered from the two bags found with the suspects, who hail from Adamawa State.
It was gathered that the police team had stormed the neighbourhood on November 24 around 6am for an operation and had detained the guards after they could not give satisfactory explanations to the items recovered from them.

FG approves N407 Billion for Fuel Subsidy

It appears the lingering fuel scarcity will soon come to an end as the Federal government has approved the release of N407.07 billion as subsidy payment to oil marketers. A statement from the Minister of Finance Kemi Adeosun released today, states that the money will be used to pay up subsidy arrears as well as pay up subsidy for the year 2015.
