3 Konga Staff Nabbed Over N9.6m Phone Theft, Stole 500 Infinix Hot 2

Three staff of an online retail outlet, Konga, on Friday appeared before a Yaba Chief Magistrates’ Court in Lagos, for allegedly stealing 500 units of Infinix Hot2 mobile phone valued at N9.6 million.

The men, Ibrahim Maradesa; 31, Oluwatoyin Salau; 41, and Jerry Idenudia; 27, who all reside at Ogba area of Lagos, are standing trial on a two-count charge of conspiracy and stealing.

The Prosecutor, Insp. Roman Unuigbe, told the court that the accused committed the offence on Nov. 4, at about 6:00p.m., at No. 36, Cocoa Road, Ogba, Lagos.

FG Issues Security Alert, Says Boko Haram Plans Abductions For Ransom

The Federal Government on Friday issued a security alert that Boko Haram terrorists were planning another sensational abduction of pupils/students or foreigners in a desperate effort to raise funds through ransom.

High School football player killed shielding girls from gunfire

A high school football player was killed as he shielded three girls from gunfire as several men went on a shooting spree in Tennessee, police said Friday.

The shootings that killed Zaevion Dobson, 15, began Thursday night, said Knoxville Police Chief David Rausch. The first person shot was Lisa Perry, 46, who was inside her apartment at the time.She is expected to survive.

Rausch said Perry's 23-year-old son, Brandon Perry, and several other men then drove to the neighborhood where Dobson lived and "randomly fired multiple times."

Rich 'Affluenza' teen who killed 4 people on the run with his Mum

 Police have launched a manhunt for a wealthy Texas teenager described as suffering from “affluenza,” after he apparently violated the terms of his probation for causing a deadly drunk-driving accident in 2013.

Ethan Couch was 16 when he crashed his pickup truck into a group of pedestrians and another vehicle, leaving four dead and several seriously injured. He had a blood-alcohol level of nearly three times the legal limit.

The son of millionaire parents, Couch made headlines during his trial when a psychologist testifying on his behalf claimed he suffered from “affluenza” — a neologism coined from affluence and influenza, implying that financial privilege made him unable to understand the consequences of his actions.

The manhunt began after the now 18-year-old missed a mandatory meeting with his probation officer last week.
